Land Surveying Seattle produces boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS and land-division surveys across Seattle, the Eastside and south King County. The work usually starts with somebody else's requirement - a permit reviewer, a lender, a title officer or a neighbour - so the first thing we ask is who wants the survey and what they plan to do with it.
Glaciers left this region steep, wet and heavily wooded. Lots drop off into ravines, bluffs sit above the Sound, lakefronts moved when Lake Washington was lowered, and valley floors sit behind levees. On top of that, every city has its own critical-areas code and its own process for moving a lot line. A survey here is shaped as much by slope, canopy and water as by the deed.

Every survey is research plus measurement. The research establishes what the deed, the recorded plat and earlier records of survey say; the field work establishes where the monuments and improvements actually are. Where those two disagree is the finding somebody is paying for.
